In 2007 I personally heard two Shell executives state the following: "Peak Oil is a myth - the world has enough oil to last another 100 to 135 years." I believe that the Twin Evils of the 21st Century are Global Warming and Peak Oil. Al Gore and his associates have gotten the world to address global warming in a very positive and encouraging way. Now we need someone to lead the Peak Oil movement to make the same thing happen - making Peak Oil a priority. Mr. van der Veer's letter is a step in the right direction - admitting there is something called Peak Oil that is happening today - not tomorrow. C.
